This summer we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Festival of India tour along the Baltic Sea coast in Poland. It began auspiciously yesterday with our first program in Kolobrzeg. As always, thousands of people came and were introduced to Krsna consciousness in a most attractive way. The festivals continue every day through the summer up until August 29. Srila Prabhupada, it is all for your pleasure. Please give us your blessings!

Many people try and avoid crowds during their summer vacation. They find a a quiet place to relax and enjoy a few days of peace and solitude. But that’s not the case for the devotees of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu! They search out the most crowded places and share the ecstasy of chanting and dancing to the holy names with the mass of people. Such are our summer days along the Baltic Sea coast in Poland.

So far the summer days on the Baltic Sea coast have been mostly bright and sunny. Taking advantage, our festival team can be seen everywhere; on the beaches, in the towns and villages and performing on stage each night.

Mielno has a reputation of being a tough town especially during the summer when thousands of young men and women come to drink and party in the many bars and discos around town. But for 3 days this week our harinama party and festivals flooded Mielno with the nectar of the holy names. Both the gentle and the ruffians chanted and danced along with us in great ecstasy. All glories to Sri Krsna samkirtan!

The 20th anniversary of Polish Woodstock is only 2 weeks away. The organizers are expecting 500,000 people. As always, our Krsna’s Village of Peace will be right in the center of the action. On their official poster below you’ll see our village advertised right in the center. We’ll be doing daily Ratha Yatra’s through the crowds, 18-hour bhajans in the Kirtan Tent, cooking demos, yoga classes, gopi dots, Questions and Answers tent and much, much more. This year we also plan to distribute 130,000 full plates of prasadam. Why not join us for one of ISKCON’s most historic preaching events? There is plenty of service to do. Dates are: July 30 and 31 and August 1 and 2. Four days. Contact me at: Indradyumna.swami@gmail.com

Today’s newspapers reported a terrible plane crash, crimes, scandals, murders and ongoing fighting in wars around the world. We live in troubled times. The only hope is Krsna consciousness, which quickly brings relief from the miseries of material life. That antidote is delivered in the form of blissful chanting and dancing to the holy names of the Lord. Our humble contribution to that effort is our daily harinams and festivals along the northern beaches of Poland. May Krsna grant us the strength to continue this program for many years to come!

Every day we chant the holy names of the Lord for hours along the beaches of the Baltic Sea coast. Each evening thousands of people attend our festivals and many chant along with us. We are happy and satisfied serving the mission of our glorious spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada.

“When people properly glorify the Supreme Personality of Godhead, or simply hear about His power, the Lord personally enters their hearts and cleanses away every trace of misfortune, just as sun removes the darkness or as a powerful wind drives away the clouds.”

[Srimad Bhagavatam 12.12.48 ]

Dear Niranjana Maharaja,

I’d like to inform you that our family; prabhu, myself and our daughter had to to move to Krasnodar (Russia). Before the war [ in eastern Ukraine] started we had lived in the downtown of Lugansk and planned to stay at the downtown and perform service in the yatra of Alchevsk. When the military operations intensified, our home turned out to be on the front line but till the last moment I had hoped that the war would be over soon. With great disappointment I can tell you that I am still quite strongly attached to everyday material conditions of life. It was difficult for me to leave everything: my friends, yatra, job, career, relatives – and go to some unknown situation. We left the very day when Lugansk was attacked by mortars and the next street became the battlefield. My brother followed me and found himself under air bombardment. We failed to evacuate my father. By Krishna’s mercy all of us survived. I was really scared to cross the border, which was fired on by snipers. My husband turned on the Narasimha kirtan in the car and we thought that if we are shot we might hear the Holy Name at the last moment. For the month we had lived in the area of military operations we had prayed to the Lord for help many times but perhaps our material attachments were stronger than intelligence, which insisted on moving to some safe place.

Dear Guru Maharaja, many devotees who went through the events say that they undergone miniature death. I agree to this statement. We have only documents left from all our paraphernalia. We had to abandon everything and to start everything from the very beginning.

Now we are living in a peaceful town, come to the temple and simply chant sixteen rounds. We were quick enough to take Girirja and Gopal in the knapsack and therefore now we can worship Them. In addition to us more four families of devotees from Alchevsk yatra and a few families from Lugansk have moved to Krasnodar.

Only now by your mercy I begin to realize that “The Bluish Hand” has already taken care of everything and it is only my frightened and bewildered mind that was afraid to depend on this Hand. I cannot tell for sure whether we will stay in Krasnodar or come back to Ukraine. The only thing I understand now is that Srila Prabhupada gave us: “Krisna consciousness as the universal and the only instrument against the war!”

Your unfortunate servant

We are halfway through our summer festival tour here in Poland. Last night we presented our new theater production, ‘Usa and Aniruddha.’ People loved it. Today we are packing up and moving our base 400 kilometers west to Kostrzyn Nad Odra to begin preparations for the great Woodstock Festival. This will be our 20th year of participating in the event and we have bigger plans than ever! One time Srila Prabhupada requested his disciples to, “Think big.” As his servants our lives are meant for fulfilling his desires. Jai Srila Prabhupada!

Dear Devotees: Don’t forget our brothers and sisters in Eastern Ukraine who are literally living in a war zone. Many are seeing the horrors of war daily. Imagine yourself in such horrific conditions. Please sacrifice whatever money you can to help move them to safer locations. They are our people. They need us now. Visit: http://help-ukrainian-refugees.org/ The following is an update from this morning …

“Abhinanda dasa reports that Alchevsk, a city between Donetsk and Lugansk in eastern Ukraine, which has been relatively peaceful until now, looks like it will become the next battleground. There is a large devotee population in Alchevsk. If the conflict moves into Alchevsk, there may be many more devotees looking for refuge. In preparation for this possibility, efforts are being made to locate a project to rent comparable to the Magdalinivka retreat center.”

A prayer for ISKCON’s devotees in the troubled region of eastern Ukraine:

“O Lord Nrsimha, Who are omnipresent, may Your nails protect me and others at all times. Just as a lion attacks formidable elephant groups and splits apart their heads with it’s nails and the vajrayudha (Indra’s defense weapon) destroys the highest mountains, in a similar way the asuras who are like strong exhilarating elephants, are easily killed by Your nails, which are powerful and precious.”

Two days before Woodstock officially opened 20 thousand young people had already arrived and set up their tents. We took full advantage and went on harinam with 500 devotees and invitations to Krsna’s Village of Peace. Though we ourselves were still putting the finishing touches to our village we managed to have kirtan in our Mantra Yoga tent for 8 hours and distribute 6,000 plates of delicious prasadam. It’s only the beginning ….

The day before Polish Woodstock we had Ratha Yatra through the center of the field where 700,000 people are slowly setting up camp. Afterwards people flowed towards our Krsna’s Village of Peace to enjoy kirtan, prasada and a variety of events. Madhumangala das entertained 8 thousand people in our large tent with his band. Kirtan went on in our kirtan tent until 2 am.
