On Tuesday I’m heading back to Russia for a 3-week preaching tour with my traveling companion, Bada Haridas prabhu. We’ll be visiting 15 cities throughout the Motherland. Back on the road, serving the desire of Srila Prabhupada.
My Dear Disciples: a new class entitled, “Eastern Savior” is now available on www.narottam.com. It centers around the benefits of taking shelter of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
Dear Disciples: Please listen to, “The Hare Krsna Explosion” a recent class given in St. Petersburg, Russia. On www.narottam.com
Belarus is a landlocked country in eastern Europe, bordered in part by Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Once part of the Soviet Union, it continues with a number of soviet era policies, such as state owned ownership of large sectors of the economy and a restricted press. ISKCON, although registered and with a nice temple in the capitol Minsk, is not allowed to openly proselytize. Harinam and book distribution are forbidden. Despite these limitations we found the people of Belarus to be friendly, accommodating and receptive to Krsna consciousness. In fact, there are over 1,500 devotees in Belarus, with a population of just over 9 million people. Please everyone give these devotees your blessings to continue spreading Lord Caitanya’s message as best they can under the circumstances.
Yesterday Russia celebrated, Russia Day, a national holiday. Taking advantage of the occasion devotees in Moscow held a festival to celebrate their goal of creating 100 Nama Hatta centers throughout the greater city. There are 7,000 devotees in and around Moscow. May Srila Prabhupada be ever glorified!.
Puja before setting off for Kazan, Russia today.
Yesterday devotees in Moscow celebrated the installation of their Gaura Nitai deities exactly twenty-two years ago. I was thinking how pleased Srila Prabhupada must be with them for maintaining a consistent and high standard for over two decades. Because of various factors the devotees have had to move their temple numerous times – but the worship of their deities has gone on without obstruction. All glories to the Moscow devotees!
