October 30, 2016: The City of Victory

Jaipur translates as the “City of Victory.” The planned city was built for the protection of Sri Sri Radha Govinda, the beloved deities of Srila Rupa Goswami. Each day thousands upon thousands of people take darsan of Radha Govinda. It is an overwhelming experience to see their devotion for the deities. Our parikrama party visited Radha Govinda twice a day during our stay in Jaipur. We also visited the temples of Radha Damodar, Radha Vinode and Radha Gopinath. For us Jaipur was a like a hidden Vrindavan.

October 18, 2016: The Talavan Forest

On our 2nd day of Kartika parikrama we visited the Talavan forest in Vrindavan. The land in Talavan is described in sastra as very even, smooth and expansive. The earth is black and densely covered with darbha grass and devoid of stones and pebbles. Talavan is especially known for it’s beautiful clear lakes filled with blue lotuses. The water of those lakes fulfills all desires and assures complete success in all undertakings. We were graced with a visit by Deena Bandhu prabhu who enlightened us all about Lord Balarama’s killing of the Dhenakasura demon.

October 7, 2016: Most Wonderful Dream

My health is improving with the warm weather and the spiritual atmosphere of Sri Vrindavan Dhama. But yesterday evening I was feeling a little despondent not being with Bada Haridas prabhu and team on the preaching tour in Mongolia. However, when I fell asleep I had a most wonderful dream. I dreamt I was with a group of devotees sitting before Srila Prabhupada as he prepared to give darshan in a temple somewhere. As Srila Prabhupada slowly surveyed the audience he saw me said:

“O Indradyumna Swami. I understand you are worshipping Lord Nrsimhadeva and several salagram silas. How is the puja going?”

Surprised he had noticed me I took a moment to collect myself and replied, “Very well, Srila Prabhupada. Thank you.”

“And your japa?” he continued with interest.

“Excellent Srila Prabhupada, by your mercy.” I replied.

“And service?” he asked.

“I’m taking a short break” I said shyly.

“I know. I understand.” he said.

“Srila Prabhupada,” I said, “how do you know these things?”

Pausing for a moment he smiled and then said affectionately, “I’m keeping an eye on you.”

October 4, 2016: Returned to Vrindavan

After our trek to Mount Kailash in Tibet we journeyed to Mongolia for a preaching tour. It was very cold in Mongolia and as a result I fell ill. Our team recommended I return to Vrindavan to rest up and get better before Kartika starts in two weeks. I arrived in Vrindavan yesterday and am feeling much better in the unusually warm weather for Vrindavan at this time of year. As I recover I will begin preparing my lectures for our Kartika parikrama. 300 devotees are expected. I am also working on a diary chapter of our Kailash trip. Ananta Vrindavan das ( in Moscow now ) is preparing several videos of the Kailash journey. They should be ready shortly. Many thanks to my dear friend Bada Hari prabhu who has taken the lead and is continuing very successfully with the preaching tour around Mongolia. That’s all the news for now. Jaya Sri Radhe!
